Connect the new Apple keyboard wirelessly to Windows

Apple’s sleek new wireless keyboards offer a great typing experience, but pairing them with a Windows PC isn’t always straightforward. In this guide, I’ll walk you through the steps to connect your new Apple keyboard wirelessly to a Windows system, ensuring smooth setup and reliable Bluetooth performance. Whether you’re switching between Mac and Windows or just prefer Apple’s keyboard style, this tutorial will help you get connected quickly and easily.

Remove the Apple Keyboard from Your Mac (If Previously Paired)

If your Apple keyboard was paired with a Mac, first forget or remove the keyboard from your Mac’s Bluetooth settings to avoid connection conflicts.

Turn Off the Apple Keyboard

Switch off your Apple keyboard completely before starting the pairing process.

Enter Pairing Mode with CMD+W Keys

Press and hold both the CMD and W keys on the keyboard. Keep holding these keys during the next step.

Turn On the Apple Keyboard While Holding CMD+W

While still holding the CMD + W keys, turn the keyboard back on. This puts the keyboard into a special Bluetooth pairing mode compatible with Windows.

Keep Holding CMD+W While Connecting to Windows

Keep holding the CMD + W keys as your Windows PC searches for Bluetooth devices. This will allow the keyboard to appear in the list of available Bluetooth devices.

Pair the Keyboard on Windows

When Windows shows a pairing code, confirm it by clicking Connect or Pair on your PC.

After completing these steps, your Apple keyboard should be connected wirelessly via Bluetooth and ready to use on your Windows PC.
