E3 NOR Flasher Multiple PS3 consoles Samsung Firmware

The E3 NOR Flasher is a very easy tool to downgrade or dual-boot your PS3. However, your E3 hardware is limited to downgrading only 1 PS3 and was made for one-time installation. However, there is a firmware file that breaks this limit and allows you to downgrade unlimited consoles with only one E3 NOR Flasher.

Requirements

Before starting the firmware installation process, make sure you have the following:

  • E3 NOR Flasher — This device must already be installed inside your PlayStation 3 console. If you haven’t installed it yet, follow this installation guide.

  • Samsung Firmware File — Download the latest firmware file for your E3 Flasher from this Mega link.

  • microSD Card — A microSD card formatted with the FAT32 filesystem. This card will be used to transfer the firmware update file to the flasher.

Firmware Installation Process

Prepare the microSD Card

  • Insert your microSD card into your computer using an adapter or built-in card reader.

  • Format the microSD card to FAT32 if it isn’t already. This ensures compatibility with the E3 Flasher.

  • Download the Samsung firmware update file from the link provided.

  • Extract the firmware archive if necessary to access the update.bin file.

  • Copy the update.bin file directly onto the root directory of the microSD card — do not place it inside any folders.

Insert the microSD Card into the E3 Flasher

  • Power off your PS3 completely.

  • Locate your E3 Flasher device installed inside the PS3.

  • Slide the empty plastic cover on the E3 Flasher to the right to unlock it.

  • Lift the cover gently towards you to reveal the microSD card slot.

  • Insert the microSD card firmly into the slot with the metal contacts facing the correct direction (refer to the image or your device’s manual for correct orientation).

  • Slide the plastic cover back to the left to lock the microSD card securely in place.

Set the E3 Flasher to Update Mode

  • On the E3 Flasher board, locate the six toggle switches labeled Switch1 through Switch6.

  • Set the switches to the following positions to enable update mode:

    • Switch1: Down

    • Switch2: Down

    • Switch3: Up

    • Switch4: Up

    • Switch5: Up

    • Switch6: Up

Make sure the switches are set exactly as shown to avoid update failures.

Start the Firmware Update

  • Turn on your PS3 console.

  • Observe the LEDs on the E3 Flasher:

    • Initially, six green LEDs and one red LED should light up.

    • After a few seconds, the blue LEDs will begin to turn on, indicating the firmware update is in progress.

Note: If the blue LEDs do not turn on, try disconnecting your eSATA cable from the PS3 and try again.

  • Wait patiently as the blue LEDs gradually light up during the update process. This may take several minutes.

Finalize the Update

  • Once all blue LEDs are fully lit, press the Reset button located beneath the blue LEDs on the E3 Flasher.

  • The blue LEDs should turn off, signaling the update is complete.

  • Turn off your PS3 completely.

Verify the Update

  • Remove the microSD card from the E3 Flasher.

  • Insert the microSD card back into your computer.

  • Check the contents of the card:

    • If the update.bin file has been removed, the update was successful.

    • If the update.bin file is still present or if you see a new text file containing an error code, the update failed and you may need to retry the process or troubleshoot based on the error.

Congratulations!

If the microSD card is empty after the update (no update.bin and no error files), your E3 NOR Flasher firmware has been successfully updated. You can now use it to downgrade unlimited PlayStation 3 consoles as intended.

Maybe try again from start? This guide is how i updated my E3 Flasher.
Also there are fake E3 Flashers available, i’m not sure if these will work with the samsung firmware.

So I can downgrade my ps3 to 3.55 with the flasher and remove it afterwards? Or has the flasher being left on the ps3?

your choice, you can leave it in and do things like dualboot ofw/cfw, or even boot different cfw’s from different harddrives, or you could remove the flasher and downgrade more ps3’s (make sure you have the samsung firmware installed on your flasher first)

every thing is on correct but when i turn my ps3 on with the update on the micro sd 6 green lights en one 1 will turn on but the blue lights wont show up after waithing an hour. my model numer is good en al that stuff i have an real e3 flasher. but it wont install the samsung firmware on the e3 flasher

So the update.bin is in the root of your sd card? also could you try a different sd card, i would suggest the smallest one you have. some sd cards (mostly fakes) may not work.
